Whew, that was close, we were looking at a sweep in Cleveland, but the Gambler Kenny Rogers came through along with some big knocks from Thames and Granderson...yeah, the lead is back up to 5, and that's not too bad. I was starting to worry because we had dropped 4 in a row, and an extended losing streak is, in my opinion, the only way we miss the playoffs. We've been playing .500 ball or less for almost a month and still have a nice cushion. On the other hand, if we can bang out a stretch of 10 games where we win 8, this puppy is over. The Tigers are also in position to have a 7 game lead going into September, which is also a key as I said at the beginning of the month, to wrapping up the division.
